What do you want to know about piercing ?
It can be a bit strange and a bit of a slog finding out about body piercing .There are hundreds of sites with information about piercing.
If you ask us a question you will get a straight answer.
The majority of information on sites is written with good intent, be aware some is way off the mark and can be absolute rubbish in some cases.Never trust blog info unless you know the person who wrote it, I could write a really glowing report or a really bad one about another studio, without being over the door. Speak to former customers, how were they treated from walking over the door to leaving, ask how long were they given for an appointment, did they get aftercare, was the piercer intrested in their health or did they just go ahead with the piercing?
These things all matter, well they do to us and they should to you.

There are real hard core piercing and body modification sites which show many types of piercing, we don't do extreme piercings, scarification, suspension, implants etc. Why? Its simple, we just have not been trained to competently carry out these procedures although we could do them! Many other studios will think this is a strange concept just not do piercings, training is often carried out as you go along by someone one who works in the studio. We feel this is not best practise as this "one to the next" training often leads to bad habits being passed on. Our Piercer is Diploma Qualified, fully trained by an industry leader who is asked to advise the Government on body piercing.
Although there is piercings which we don't do there are literally hundreds that we do! from Navels to Eyebrows and literally any safe place in between.
If you do want an extreme piercing make certain you research the entire process find out the good points and make certain you find out the draw backs as well.

One of the sources for simple and clear independant advice is is an N.H.S advice line who can give the real low down on what you should be looking for in a Piercer and Studio. They produce a flyer and run an advice line on 0141 214 0225 this is really good for those with parental responsibility who just want some advice before giving consent for a piercing.
They say
"there's more to consider other than the design of the jewellery
Did you know ... that there is a risk of various different infections being transmitted if the equipment being used is not sterile or the level of hygiene is poor?"
This is really what safe piercing is all about, if you come to us for a piercing we will gladly show you how we achieve sterility and prove to you that the equipment and jewellery being used has been autoclaved correctly. We have seen jewellery being removed from a shop display in another studio and used for piercing. How can this possibly have been safe?
People often comment that our piercing room smells like a dentist,no bad thing we think. The reason is we use exactly the same process as your dentist does prior to and in between piercings to ensure cross contamination risks are controlled.
To Freeze or not to Freeze
lets get straight to the point, we do not use freezing spray.
We dont believe its good for you or your new piercing.
We ask people who have previously had piercings completed with freezing spray "is there any true difference in the sensation", the general answer is not really.
People report that the application of the spray can be more uncomfortable than the actual piercing as it is so cold on the skin. The really interesting comments relate to tongue piercing, it would seem than when the effects of the freezing spray wears off the sensation can be near to unbearable as the body goes into overdrive near the piercing site, now that's not always the case but we hear it time and time again. If you are going to get your tongue frozen ask to see the spray
container before its used some sprays currently used are not suitable for oral application. It does no harm to check, if they will not show you the can, why not?
The actual process of piercing is completed in seconds why take a risk of having long term skin damage for no real benefit, you need to trust us on this aspect of the piercing. The freezing spray costs just a few pounds for fifty applications, it would be easy for us to simply use the spray, we know this would bring in an extra customers each week but we will not put profit before your piercing experience. Try and speak to someone who has had both styles of piercing completed, we will see you shortly afterwards if our expierence is correct.
